The central application pack
The MFA describes the L visa as the category for people entering China for tourism. Central guidance points applicants to the online form and requests a passport and photograph, evidence of lawful stay or residence where relevant, and prior Chinese passport or visa documents where applicable.
For the trip itself, prepare round-trip flight and hotel bookings or an invitation issued by an organization or individual in China.
What a tourism invitation should identify
The official checklist asks for the invitee’s identity details, arrival and departure dates, places to be visited, and the inviter’s name, contact information and address. An organization’s invitation should include its seal and authorized signature.
A consular officer may request additional evidence for an individual case, so the responsible mission remains the final application checklist.
