Who the current policy covers
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs FAQ currently lists 50 nationalities whose valid ordinary-passport holders may enter for business, tourism, family or friends visits, exchange, or transit for no more than 30 days.
Brunei has no stated policy expiry, Russia is listed through 31 December 2027, and the other 48 countries are listed through 31 December 2026. Check the live MFA page again before travel.
How the 30 days and documents work
The 30-day period starts on the day after entry and runs for 30 calendar days. The MFA says no advance declaration to an embassy or consulate is required for an eligible visa-free entry.
Border inspection makes the individual entry decision. Carry documents that support the purpose, such as an invitation, onward or return ticket, and accommodation booking.
- Work, formal study and news coverage are not covered by this waiver.
- Temporary, emergency and other non-ordinary travel documents do not qualify under this policy.
- Tour groups and independent travelers can both qualify when the conditions are met.
